October 2022

This was an incredibly packed month with awesome highs and really horrible lows.

Conference was great and relaxing.

Isaac looks very relaxed.

Then Doug and I went to Costa Rica. We sent this picture from the Costa Rica airport to our Lucy. We got to see Lucy the sloth later, too.

Here is the lovely view from our tour bus.

We stayed at the Four Seasons and it had so many amenities--like paddleboards whenever we wanted to use them!

Our zoo trip included an amazing butterfly area and the butterflies loved me.

Eating lunch in the jungle. It was pouring rain on us the whole time.

Doug's dream came true and he got to catch a sailfish. He was so exhausted.

We loved to see porpoises swimming by us.

Then back home to reality.

Fun trip with Brooklyn to Dick's.

Corban was proud of his new lunch creation.

Within a week of coming home, devastation hit. Lucy started to fill a bath around 11 pm and forgot all about it. The water damage was horrible by the time Doug went to inspect what was happening. I mopped and sobbed and my life was taken over by repairs for so long.

Enjoying the party at Darcee and Jeremy's.

I sent the family Halloween picture to my Sheide family and asked them to guess what everyone was. Eric had a clever response and I sent it to the Bowen family so they could discover who they "really" were. The two families don't intersect often, but this was fun.

Isaac's birthday! I let him ditch school and we went to Lake Pleasant.

His dream came true and he got to see donkeys. This one posed with him on our way out of the park.

My birthday love note for Isaac

Time Out for Women with the MIL and sisters-in-law.

Primary presentation day. We let the music leaders put their feet up with new slippers and blankets and their favorite beverages during primary. We survived the program!

Then we took Isaac to the Jackson's house to get his patriarchal blessing. It was a beautiful experience.

Isaac's swim team volunteered with Special Olympics.

Corban freezing at Cason's football practice.

Isaac asked for a Dragonball sweatshirt for his birthday. He looks cute but he didn't wear his costume for anything.

Cason and Phoenix were twins at the ward Trunk or Treat.

Cute bunch of girls

Lucy's team went to watch Grand Canyon State women's soccer and it was awesome!

I let Lucy play hooky on her 14th birthday as well. She wanted to go to In n Out and the mall to celebrate.

Lucy found a butterfly on our windshield and rescued it. Like mother like daughter.

Lucy opening her gifts

Isaac at his district meet. He did a great job!

Isaac leading the pack to go swim one of the events. He qualified for two events but somehow missed his first event when he took another swimmer's advice about not needing to go then. That meant he couldn't swim that event the second day, which was a bummer. But he PR'd in his one event.

Lucy had a birthday party where we worked hard to be very inclusive. Some of these girls are from school, some from church, some through FSY, and two from soccer.

Halloween night!

Isaac was the king.

Lucy went with this friend and a few boys--and they jumped in our pool without me knowing about it. Not my favorite Halloween choice for her.

We trick-or-treated with Becky's crew and had a ton of fun.
