December 2022

 Pics

We were able to get new carpet as part of the insurance money we got from the flood. We knew this would ruin our lives for a while and it did. Here are some carpet samples.

I had Isaac put this bumper sticker on because he was a new driver.

The kids played in the Christmas recital.

Doug and I went to a party for his DON Angeline and we got a call from the kids about an hour in. Brooklyn had broken her arm playing on a mattress with her brothers. She stood on top of it at an angle and Cason yanked the mattress away. I have no idea how was able to move it suddenly because those mattresses are so heavy. Such a horrible bummer.

Brooklyn in the hospital with us

We were mad because the doctor made the set look good from the top, but not from the side. She had already wrapped it up so she settled for a bad set. So frustrating. Brooklyn was an angel when she came out of the little surgery. She reverted back to a one-year-old, looking deeply into my eyes and smiling cherubically. It was amazing.

She got this puppy from the Buechners. Her initial wrap and cast were so uncomfortable for her.

Lucy at soccer with teammates

Brooklyn supporting her friend at a skating recital. We couldn't get a coat over her brace so she draped Doug's huge coat over herself.

The ward Christmas party had a pajama theme.

Super cute responses from Corban in his workbook.

Lucy's beautiful artwork was a Christmas gift for us.

Enjoying the Mesa Christmas lights with Brian and his wife Kelcie and daughter Reece. They were in the area for an internship.

Corban with yet another Brainiac award!

Brooklyn danced a happy dance when she got her pretty blue cast.

Isaac at the wheel!

With Mustang mascot.

Here was our torture, moving everything out of the rooms in the kid area one day, then everything out of the loft, then our room. Torture! Very thankful for sliders!

And we can't forget Isaac's room, which also got new carpet so everything matched.

The little boys switched over to Brooklyn's room and she moved into theirs.

Brooklyn's new room!

Light at the end of the tunnel--a nice dinner out.

We discovered this fun movie.

kiddos playing ball in the house (although they are not supposed to)

Doug fixed this light fixture after a few years of it being pushed in too far on one side (but it is pushed out of place again now).

We had an incredibly long stay at the dentist's office and this was a fun activity for the first little while. Then everything got gloomy and boring for the boys. We miss our old pediatric dentist who got everyone's teeth addressed at the same time.

I got to play with Christy.

That looks fun. I can't remember where we were.

The kiddos on Christmas Eve.

Peanut got this for me for Christmas. It's beautiful.

Santa and Rudolf enjoyed what we left out that night.

The note from the elf on Christmas Eve.

Getting all packed up for our trip to Utah! We had gifted Isaac and Lucy a ski trip so that necessitated some extra gear.

We made it to Utah to celebrate!

There was a sale going on at Hogle Zoo so we went there with Matt and Jessica's family.

Skiing was fun. It got off to a rocky start when the main lift was closed and we had to wait forever to get up the mountain, but it was pretty and we were happy to be there.

Poor Isaac struggled with his first day of skiing! He fell a lot and his instructor snapped this picture! Lucy had a great time and was confident. Isaac and I skied together on the bunny hill after his lesson and had a great time. Lucy went off with Doug to ski on more challenging slopes.

Corban enjoyed getting a Pokemon game and getting Pokemon cards. And he loved his new football.

We must have gone to some movie that week.

Kids playing with cousins in the snow while Peanut and I walked many brisk laps around the track

They loved playing the Wii way too much.

And here is the founder of the feast with his sparkling cider and crab legs. He loves fine dining and we all benefit.
