Take a Gratitude Challenge!

In the December Ensign, President Eyring talks about gratitude even in tough times, and then there is a challenge after his article. So here's The Gratitude Challenge, with my answers. I'd love to see yours as well!

1) Write 10 physical abilities you are grateful for: running, swimming, typing, kissing my children, hugging my children, everything with my husband:), laughing, talking, singing, playing music
2) Write 10 material possessions you are grateful for: my houses (in Pocatello and Ammon), my cars, the water heater, my shower, my purse, my phone, my computer, my running shoes
3) Write 10 living people you are grateful for: Doug, Isaac, Lucy, Brooklyn, my mom, my dad, Peanut, Troy, Marshall, Tanner
4) Write 10 deceased people you are grateful for: Jesus Christ (still living, but he died), John the Baptist, my grandma and grandpa Sheide, my grandpa Stevenson, Doug's grandma Lucy, Claude Monet, Viktor Frankl, George Washington, Mother Theresa
5) Write 10 things about nature you are grateful for: sunrises, sunsets, stars, shooting stars, lakes, rivers, oceans, moss, redwoods, the moon
6) Write 10 things about today you are grateful for: My kids were all healthy at their doctor appointment today, I got to read to my oldest kids, I got to kiss all of them, Isaac and Lucy did well eating breakfast and lunch, everyone is napping so I get downtime/school time, I've gotten to talk with Doug a few times today, Isaac's tonsil/adenoid surgery is scheduled already, and Doug can watch the younger two while I take Isaac in for his surgery--no babysitter needs!, I've already gone on a run, and I got a shower!
7) Write 10 places on earth you are grateful for: Maui; Fergus Falls, Minnesota; Highland, Utah; Vienna, Virginia; Sun City, AZ; Ammon, Idaho (I'm a little grateful); Idaho Falls, Idaho; Morgantown, West Virginia; Logan, Utah; New York City, NY
8) Write 10 modern inventions you are grateful for: printed books, computers, toilets, hot tubs, showers, the Internet, minivans, dishwashers, public waste facilities, elevators
9) Write 10 foods you are grateful for: raspberry pie, fondu, sweet potatoes, stuffing, cranberry sauce, smoothies, pineapple, raspberries, salmon, rolls!
10) Write 10 things about the gospel [or 10 truths] you are grateful for: the fact that my family can be together forever, the fact that the Savior understands everything I have ever gone through, the miracle of forgiveness through Jesus Christ's atonement, the ability to read the scriptures, the fact that I can listen to prophets today, the blessing of good health as a result of following the word of wisdom, the feeling I have when I know something is true, the gift of being surrounded by good people who want to do what is right, my knowledge that God loves me, my faith that my Patriarchal blessing contains guidance God wants me to have, the blessing of knowing what to teach my kids, the closeness I feel with children of God, knowing we are all God's children (I went a little over on this one:)).

So you try it! And consider my month of daily gratitude commitment to be pretty well achieved. I'll still post what I'm thankful for, but it needs to feel like icing on the cake, because I've been thorough!
