Actually, I love Brooklyn's smile above the drool, the fact that my kids love to touch me , and I am so, so grateful for Hailey and for our beautiful family pictures.
While my pictures upload, I'll tell you about my day: it was hard. I was having a hard time finding something I was grateful for.
Today, Brooklyn woke up with the most horrible diaper rash she has ever had. Each night, I coat her bum with Desitin, but last night I went with Huggies diaper cream. Her bum was so bright red, with blisters across it. Thankfully, the sores weren't open, but her bum made me want to cry. I felt so bad for her. And she required even more attention throughout the day than usual.
Also, I knew we were going to do pictures, so I devoted a lot of thought to our outfits. I'm color-blind, so this may be harder for me than for the average individual. It is hard to know what goes.
Because we are leaving for a week on Sunday, I also wanted to pack up boxes of Lucy and Isaac's old clothes to give to my niece and nephew, and I wanted to dig around in said boxes for the sweater Lucy is wearing in our pictures. I was successful with that. And I folded laundry, swept the floor, de-cluttered my kitchen, and did some class work. And I timed naps perfectly for our photo shoot and even showered and blow-dried my hair. If you don't want to call me Super-woman, you have never done what I did. And you don't understand family photo shoots:).
I am so thankful for Hailey, and I'm thankful to have survived my morning and afternoon. And yes, Brooklyn is in my lap, because where else would she be?

Cute pictures, sad story about the diaper rash! I have never heard of a baby's bum being that bad, that is so heartbreaking! Hope she is doing better now!
Have you ever tried just plain old baby powder for the diaper rash? My boys had those horrible kind of rashes, sometimes even bleeding and I found that baby powder worked better than anything else. Love the pics!

I'm sure you've tried a million things for the diaper rash, but I keep coming back to Boudreaux's Butt Paste. It works so much better than Desitin for my babies.
