Beautiful Writing, Perspective

I work with the young women in my ward, and last night we had an activity regarding modesty through the ages. I loved being reminded that modesty has always been an issue. Sometimes, we talk about how much harder everything is for the youth now, and the future youth. But it's nice to remember that there have always been similar challenges. We're survivors, and we can share our experiecnes, and our strength.

In a beautiful, witty article our Young Women's President read last night, the author described how clothing trends have gone from "strapless evening gowns to gownless evening straps." So perfect, and so awesomely worded. Oh, how I love great writing. And I am so glad for my calling--or "volunteer job" in the church. Working with the young women gives me an excuse to look a little cuter at church and activities, and to be warm and supportive, because I remember the drama of being a teenager.
