Horray for Being Relatively Updated! February, 2016

At the very end of January, Doug decided he wanted a new mattress, so we got one for $1400. Yikes! I wanted to soften that blow a bit so I decided to sell our old mattress. I started my mattress posting at $300 and ultimately took $150 for it. For a 9-year-old mattress, I guess that's okay.

And this is Cason's very favorite part of going to the IF library. The fish!

Lucy cries wolf about various ailments quite often, and her complaints this month were that her throat felt sore and she had to go to the bathroom all the time. I brought her to the doctor to have him inspect her throat and look at a urine sample. $48 later, the verdict was as follows: throat was fine (no strep) and nothing wrong with her urine. I actually had to drop her urine sample off at the hospital. I'd very much not like to bring her to the doctor any time soon. Unfortunately, we have a well visit scheduled for her and Cason tomorrow morning. Sigh.

These were the flowers Doug got for the girls and I for Valentine's Day. Doug and I went to Stockman's to celbrate Valentine's Day and I ordered a hamburger that just wasn't awesome. The cheesecake was really good, so that was nice. Then, we went to Albertson's and Walmart to get a few more things for the kids. It was nice.

Brooklyn's interesting fashion sense. She looked really cute for preschool that day.

We worked really hard to find a swimsuit for her that worked. After several trips to the mall, and buying several suits there and at Sam's Club, we found this lucky winner. Even better, we got the same suit in a size bigger for Summer as an early birthday present. The girls will be so cute.
Cason's 2-year-old birthday was lots of fun. We had signs and flags up, along with confetti and balloons. When he opened a football we got him and a huge car set, he began shaking. It was so cute!

Behold the fun car toy.

And having fun with his Daddy.

I took a picture of this a few days ago. This is what happens when I close the bathroom door and hope for privacy. Very cute little hands say hello.
We had such an incredible tour of the Provo City Center temple. It is so, so pretty, and the kids kept talking about how they felt the spirit. I love the symbolism of having the Savior watch over and protect our family. I'm hoping to blow this picture up and put it in our living room.
Our kids at the fountain outside the Provo City Center temple.

After our temple tour, we took our kids to BYU. We said they could each pick one book from the bookstore, and we ate at the food court. Isaac kept saying it was heaven, and declaring that he couldn't decide what he loved more--the temple or BYU.

To make the day even cooler, we dropped our kids off at Peanut's house and Doug and I did a get-away at Little America. We went to City Creek mall that night and were blown away by how pretty it is. It's right beside the temple, and there is a stream running through both the indoor and outdoor parts of the mall--with fish! We'll have to take our kids. It also has a great water fountain/fire show to music, and we watched a man propose to his girlfriend there. She said yes.

We had an incredible dinner at Little America that night, and then a great breakfast in the morning. Doug let me pose with my hot chocolate.

On Saturday morning, we picked our kids up and went to an amazing park in Cedar Hills with Peanut and her kids. You definitely had to be with the 2-year-old at all times, but it was incredibly cool.

Brooklyn posing for Doug. I love her dimples!

We took the kids back to my mom's house for a nap and then we went to a family dinner to celebrate Kelsie and Brian's wedding. It was so great to get to go. Doug and I won a newlywed game and our award was Cinemark movie theater tickets, which I quickly handed off to Peanut. What a great thing to pass on as a thank you for watching our kids! I will admit that I cheated just a little bit on one question that was," What is the last book the husband read?" I clarified under my breath, "What was the last book you read this morning?" and the answer was The Book of Mormon. Yummy food, and Kelsie is so beautiful and seems so perfect fro Brian. This is all the grandkids with Brian and Kelsie. Cason was being entertained by Doug somewhere else.

And here are the cute matching cousins. I scored these dresses at Target.
I am caught up to the month of February!

I worked like crazy to be ready for this Utah trip. I graded all my students' midterms last week, conferenced with several students, graded all their essays this week, and I taught preschool. What an incredible trip!
