July, 2015

We started July off right with a trip to Minnesota! Poor Isaac was sick most of the time with a high fever and a spider bite right above his eye, but he got to go on our many stroller rides and adventures with us anyway.

The kids did pretty well on our stroller rides.

We also went to the zoo in North Dakota that is so cool. We went on the carousel ride afterward, which is one of my favorite things to do. The kids weren't great at posing for us. but it was pretty awesome to have all of the cousins together.

And a beautiful picture of our lake from the cabin window. Even though we got a new cabin and the old one is gone, the view is so similar and so special. I don't like driving 15-20 hours to get there, but Minnesota will always be special to me. I wish my kids could have what I had: going to stay with Grandma and Grandpa for weeks, doing swim lessons, playing in the lake all day, doing dress up, playing cards, watching movies, eating ice cream--it was a beautiful life.

Cyn and Marty got us a gift card to Dairy Queen that we used in Minnesota, We sent this picture to them as a thank you.

When we got home, it was back to swim lessons and workbooks every day. I went around the kitchen taking pictures of the kids. Cason was happy wiping the table.

Isaac made an awesome minions picture.

He wrote a great little blurb about going to Minnesota.

Lucy posed with her workbook.
Cason got to amuse himself with dominoes.
Brooklyn did as well. She actually did an amazing job with her preschool workbook once I decided to get one for her. She combed through it in a month or two, and now she's halfway through her Kindergarten workbook.

Funny zoo picture. This isn't the common angle you get on swans.

And our kids having a little picnic in the front yard

Lucy lost a tooth!

When it was cold outside, or Cason just needed some peace and quiet to eat his breakfast, we could park the car and watch all the kids do their swim lessons.

Brooklyn warming up after swim lessons. I wouldn't let her wear her blue swimsuit every day. We compromised by having her go back and forth between one of her pink suits and the blue suit.

Summer really is glorious. I am kind of appalled at all these pictures of kids in long sleeves in July, but I want to attribute it to the AC and not any deficiency on the weather's part. Our wind can be a bit rough, but it's usually warm and wonderful in July.
