December 2015

We started December off by finding out that BYU's football coach, Bronco Mendenhall, decided to abandon the cougars and coach at UVA. Lucy came upstairs dressed in this UVA outfit, and I had to send the picture to Peanut and Eric.

This was one version of our Christmas card. We just changed the picture of Lucy in the top left corner. Doug won't let me post a picture of him with his ugly sweater for the ugly sweater party and his necbrace on. It was amazing.

Cason has mixed feelings about dress up in our house.

We went to Utah so Doug could take Isaac and Cabell to a BYU basketball game and so Doug and I could have an all day date that ended at the MoTab Christmas concert. My mom said the concert wasn't that great, so we went to Star Wars instead. It was awesome!

Doug said Isaac was totally on fire and rowdy with Cabell and then he just laid on the bench.

On Christmas Eve, we went to IHOP as a family (very expensive and a long wait, but really delicious!) and then we went sledding as a family. Cason loved his winter hat.

Brooklyn enjoyed sledding for a little while, and then she decided she'd had enough and went back to the car. It was fine riding with her.

Isaac loved it. Lucy did, too.

It was so cool to keep adding to the presents at the base of the tree.

That night, we had shrimp, crab, crackers and summer sausage with cheeses, and a delicious veggie tray for dinner. It was awesome!

I only took a few pictures on Christmas day, but it was great. The low light was that I completely forgot to Skype with my family during Tanner's missionary call. We had Doug's phone by us all day, but I ignored mine, and missed messages from my family, who wondered where I was. I'm a terrible sister, but I was a great wife and mom. I'll do better on Mother's Day.

Snow is lovely. We had it for months straight. The ice and snow is almost melted (Feb 23) and I would love for it to go away until next winter. It has made running tough and it has inhibited stroller rides. Today we went on a stroller ride, though! I loved it!

A few days after Christmas, we went back to Utah. This is Lucy at the dinosaur museum. We had 45 minutes to kill and decided to go to the DInosaur museum. I thought it wouldn't be too expensive because it's half-off when you go with a guest. Our trip was so expensive, though! I won't do that again.

Brooklyn posing with dinosaurs.

I took this picture to prove that we had Eric in the car and we were on our way to Tucanos. That food was so amazing! My mom was sick, so she couldn't come. Peanut watched kids while Eric, Dad, Doug, Shauna, Marsh, and I ate incredible food. SO, so good.

And Brooklyn got to be Penelope the dragon. Nobody rocks the Penelope outfit like Isaac did as a little boy, but she looked cute. Peanut's kids have great dress up clothes.

The day after Tucanos, Marsh and Shauna invited Doug to come to a Jazz game. His ticket cost something like $400. There was an all you can eat buffet, and Doug ate like a champ. He sprinted for the bathroom when he got home from the game. He wanted me to cry him a river because he ate such rich food two days in a row. It was pretty funny. And that was December!
