Keep in mind that I am limiting myself to ten minutes for this post, hopeful that I will then fold the laundry and get a quick nap before Lucy wakes up:).
1) I learned that I really like American Idol. I've never watched it, and Doug got into it so I finally sat down and watched a little of it last week. And then I watched it pretty faithfully this week. Doug and I are still figuring out how it all works, but we've already got some favorites. And I do NOT like the way Simon treats some people. He acts like it's fine to be rude, and it isn't. I've been feeling hurt for several of the people he was unkind to this week. I understand that he and Paul Abdul at least are supposed to act the way they do, but consideration is a virtue we could all benefit from strengthening.
2) I've been able to nap more in the last week, because I couldn't sneak over to my computer to check whether Angela had her baby yet, for example. (I did check for that immediately after our Internet started working again, and at my friend's house earlier in the week. No baby announcement as of last night.)
3) With my extra time, I finished Strunk and White's 'The Elements of Style" and "Low-fat Eating for Normal People." I also read 2 Ensigns and I'm so glad I did! I need a novel now, people. Unfortunately, I'm reading the beginning of "Novel and Short Story Writer's Market," so my pleasure reading is still just around the corner.
4) I've written in my journal more, which I have enjoyed.
So the moral is that I am delighted to have the Internet again, but I'm going to keep tabs on the time I use on it.

I was looking at google reader, which updates me when people have added new posts to their blog. I thought to myself it was odd that you had gone for so long without a new post and then I remembered you had gone private and that google reader doesn't notify me about updated private blogs. So, I enjoyed reading all the posts that were new since you went private. I was out in Utah for ten days and didn't get online much out there, so it is true that while incredibly useful and fun, the internet does suck away my time and I was far more productive with out. Well, if you can call lounging around in Utah more productive...
Yea! I'm glad for the things that you learned but glad you'll be back in the game again.
Hope to see you soon!
