How to Avoid Losing Weight

Some people think about how we're all dying just a little bit every day. I think about how I avoid losing weight, making the small choices that mean my numbers don't go down (and sometimes go up) on the blessed scale.

How to avoid losing weight:

1) Make a pumpkin chocolate-chip cake for Sunday dinner, gorge on it throughout the meal, and bring home all the leftovers. Repeat gorging process.

2) Have rice pudding for dessert, even if part of your lunch was pumpkin chocolate-chip cake (PCCC).

3) Eat PCCC while gossiping with your mother on the phone, thus keeping your hands and teeth busy and unaware of the blast of calories consumed while you giggle.

4) Seconds and thirds are key. Never settle for just one round when you can have more.

5) Remind your husband to say you're hot all the time, thus eliminating the potential lull in positive physical compliments. (If you feel like a babe, you're less likely to watch what you eat.)

I think that's it for now, but I'll keep you posted on the other ways I've learned how to avoid losing weight, and I'd love advice from you.

In other news, Lucy is rolling now and it is oh-so-cute. I've also figured out the least confrontational way of getting Isaac to sleep, and that's having him pass out in the car on the way home from something fun. Yay for me. I've also started telling him stories about a little boy names Jack who is a minder, and who does a great job taking naps and going to sleep at night. I want to write a few Jack stories for Isaac, but I'm wondering how I'll do pictures for them. I'll probably take pictures of Isaac doing the good things Jack does. Any other ideas regarding how to have your two-year-old go down well after the paci is gone?

I close with some pictures from this afternoon at the Aquarium. Isaac hung out at the shark exhibit for about 20 minutes, happy to huddle with strangers as they all oohed and ahhed at the leopard and nurse sharks and rays.

And he and his cousins River and Haven shocked us all with their temporarily sedentary behavior in the boat exhibit. Yep, it stuns us when they hold still long enough for us to whip out the cameras. I'll post a video of Lucy rolling soon and I look forward to your advice regarding how to smooth the sleeping process for Isaac. I know it's only going to get uglier when we bust out the toddler bed!

Another great tip for not loosing weight is to buy the Cadberry Chocolate eggs that are 2 bags for $5 at most grocery stores during easter season. Put them in your fridge with the top open so you have easy access. Eat both bags within a week. It works wonders! I love your blog!
