Win Win Win Win

Isaac's not looking stellar in this one, but the girls look sweet.
Lucy's dangerous "straddle the baby and hope she's fine" approach is evidenced here.
I wish Brooklyn were smiling in this one--I love the expressions on the other two!
Behold Brooklyn's bedroom. We've talked a lot about putting two kids together, but at the end of the day (and at nap time), I love closing three doors and letting them each have individual quiet time. You can't see it in this picture really, but i bought Brooklyn a 3-inch mattress that fits in her pack-n-play. I love it so much! I hated laying her down on the bumpy floor of the pack-n-play and I feel a lot of peace of mind now.
My mom brought at least 10 boxes of clothes to our house last friday. Some were for Brooklyn, but most were for Lucy. I've chipped away at the boxes so there are only three more to sort through. We are so blessed to get hand-me-downs. Isaac doesn't get them anymore, and it stinks to have to pay for his clothes.
The cute scarecrow and skeleton my mom got for us last week on my incidentally immaculate counter top:).
Cute!

I felt ambitious this morning. Brooklyn woke up to eat at 6:30 am, and I decided to go on a run after putting her back down. It was a starry, albeit cloudy "night" for most of my run. Daylight savings won't make it any better.

Then, I cleaned up my whole kitchen, emptied the dishwasher, did the dishes, swept the floors, killed way too many ants (they all came back to my house the day it snowed and we've been exterminating them ever since), cleaned all the bathrooms, read my scriptures and an Ensign article, and tidied. Then Brooklyn woke up for real at 9:45 am, got more food, and I vacuumed and cleaned some more.

I even practiced words with Isaac this morning, and Lucy is working on her letters right now via Leap Frog Letter Factory. So aside from the unfortunate truth that I need to grade at least 6 papers today and haven't started yet, things are going well! The kids have been so cute today, as you can see.

I'm working on enjoying my kids more of the time. I am realizing that it is harder to have all of us be happy all the time because I'm looking for a "win win win win" instead of just a "win win" like I could get when I just had Isaac. There are four different personalities and agendas, and I need to prayerfully decide how to raise these precious children, with as much "win win win win" as possible.

My procrastination is now done, and I don't regret any of it:).

As a follow up, I have worked out five times this week and i have only had that one chocolate granola bar so far. I'm hoping there are glorious desserts at the dinner between road show performances tomorrow. I'll post about the road show stuff later:).

I like your win win win win thoughts. I've never actually thought about it that way. I think this needs to be my new philosophy because it is rare that we have win win win win at our house. I'll shoot for being happy with win win like you. :)

Wow! What a morning. Don't you love those super-mom mornings? They are too few and far between around our house, but so great when they happen.

Way to hang in there while you were pulling your share as well as Doug's. And way to resist the treats! When I am stressed I totally justify ice cream, cookies, brownies... whatever is sitting around the house, really.

And I too really love your commentary on win win vs. win win win win. It is so tough juggling the needs of our children with our own goals, however small or big. I have been feeling really stretched recently, and your thoughts gave me some fresh hope!
