A Little About Me:

Greetings from Pocatello, Idaho, a place in which I never would have imagined living!

I grew up in Vienna, Virginia playing all those fun east coast sports like lacrosse and field hockey, as well as "normal" basketball, soccer, gymnastics, track and cross-country, with some piano, flute, and piccolo "playing" on the side. I was a writing nerd though, even attending writing camp at the University of Virginia.

After high school, I attended BYU-Provo, where I majored in History and minored in English. I served a mission in New York City, New York and returned to Provo. There, I taught missionaries in the MTC and met my sweetheart, Doug Bowen, who had just transferred from BYU-Idaho. He is the reason I'm in Pocatello.

Since getting married, we have lived in Provo, Utah; Logan, Utah (where I taught English and got my Master's degree in Literature and Writing); Morgantown, West Virginia (where Doug spent his first two years of law school); Orem, Utah (so Doug could do his last year of law school at BYU); and now Pocatello, where Doug is serving as a law clerk for a wonderful district judge.

Along the way, we incorporated some extra family members. We have a son named Isaac, almost 4, deeply in love with books and shows, the alphabet, numbers, and his stuffed animals; and Lucy, almost 2, perfectly content to dance around our house carrying her pink bear and blanket, sucking on her paci, wearing her brother's underwear and my bracelets and necklaces, singing "Jesus Wants Me for a Sun-BEAM!" They're a handful, but they're precious and very kissable.

I am thrilled to be your Writing Foundations teacher; I love reading and writing AND I love sharing ideas with fellow followers of Christ as we all try to meet our divine potential.
