Unexpected Delights

After such a long time in quarantine, it has felt absolutely delicious to be out and about. I just got back from the "beach" at Utah Lake with Peanut. This was our first time seeing each other in exactly 2 weeks! We'd like to dedicate that separation to every single one of the members of our respective families getting sick. Holy cow, that was a long run!

I've had a blast during the last several days. I got to go on a Girls Night with my sisters-in-law and my mother-in-law on Friday. We went to the outlets in Park City and we went out to eat.

Then on Saturday, we let the kids wake up late and we went out on the boat with my brother-in-law's family and a bunch of other family members. I got to go tubing with my niece and nephew and Isaac (he was so cute!) and I got to wake board. Doug wake boarded as well, and let me tell you, that man is gorgeous on a wake board. We did all the firework-y stuff and were REALLY tired when we went to bed that night.

But I have just CHERISHED the awesome time I've had with Doug for the last few days. He hasn't been able to do anything fun with us on Saturdays because he's working so hard to get ready for the Bar. So this was such a special treat. Now I've got one of my best friends from college in town and I may be taking a trip up to Island Park on Thursday for an enormous family reunion. Wish me luck on that one: a 5 1/2 hour drive with my kids and all of us sleeping in a room together for several nights should be a little painful.

How exciting that you guys bought a house! You are going to love having your own place. It's lot of work but so worth it!

I've got to ask you specific directions where that "beach" is again so I can take the kids there soon. You'll have Doug around more soon. . .not much longer;)
