Explanation #2: Kids not so interested in the camera--what's going on to the left AND right is apparently way cooler than smiling for grandma
Explanation #3: The closed-eyes delight
Explanation #4: The fist-over-mouth thing is problematic, as are closed eyes, and the fact that Doug looks like he's pointing at...
Explanation #5: The accidentally drool-slathered face offsets the sweetness just a little bit--zoom in for drooly delight... and I guess Doug and Isaac should have been in the picture:).
That said, why don't you join me in entering kids in a child model contest!? Your kids are SSSSSSSSOOOOOOOOOOOOO cute and there are several photographers in your families and neighborhoods. One of us deserves the free trip to New York City for the photo shoot 8 lucky kids and their families get to do. Go to childrensplace.com and join me in the (sarcastic) joy of trying to get kids to be as cute on camera as they are all the rest of the time.
A quick update on things here: I got all my snailmail Valentines sent and the rest will be sent online. I'll be posting the Valentine on my blog, so consider it my ghetto effort to connect with your family:). My kids have been sick for more than a week, but I was so happy at the doctor's yesterday to learn that Lucy only has a cold--not croup, like I'd 99.9% determined.
And I got my first rejection for my first of 100 submissions this year:(. It stinks, but I think I'll pull through. I love this month of love and I apologize for surface-level entries of late!

Ohhh, the reality of taking family pictures! I could soooo relate!
I'm so proud of you for sending in your work! That is such an amazing thing in itself!
The hilarious part of it all is that Doug has the same perfect "cheese" in every single picture, regardless of the mayhem surrounding him. So funny. Hey, good luck with the next submission!!! Sorry the first one didn't work out. Happy V-day
