Lions, Tigers, Bears, Peacocks, and Penguins

We love the Pittsburgh Zoo and Aquarium! We went yesterday morning and had a blast. It was probably in the upper 30's but the sun shone throughout our stay, and Isaac was warm enough with a double layers of pants, three layers on top (shirt, sweater, coat) and his hat and mittens, of course. Plus we had a weather protector for our stroller--the amount of clothing our child donned was kind of remarkable, but it convinced Doug that Isaac wouldn't freeze.

What a little cutie patootie: Isaac chased peacocks all around, and we somehow omitted the peacocks in our pictures. Whoops.

This is a dragon seahorse--he may be the coolest creature I've ever seen. He looks like the Harry Potter dragons, but he moves via this furious fin on his back. This little guy was probably 7 inches long, but I heard that the aquarium has had dragon seahorses that were several feet long. How cool!

And my handsome men with the fish:
I must say one of my favorite parts of our trip was that Isaac slept through our ride back home. He isn't one of those serene children who will sleep for you in the car--we're talking 1 out of every 100 car rides have the slender possibility of enabling my child's eyelids to droop. But he performed well yesterday and we're very proud.
