Thankful

You can't move on from Thanksgiving without thanksgiving. So here it goes, in order of what pops into my head first:

1) I'm thankful that WVU beat UConn and will most likely play in the BCS championship game.

2) I'm thankful that BYU beat Utah--the Cougs did the right thing! (Doug was so excited about the game that he put Isaac down for a nap without removing Isaac's shoes--that has never happened before and Isaac probably thought it was a little weird.)

3) I'm thankful for my handsome, wonderful husband. We've been best friends for almost 4 years and we look forward to eternity together as best friends. He is the love of my life.

4) I'm thankful for Isaac--I love that he comes to me, holds onto me so tightly, loves to show me new things, and walks all over in his little sweatsuits.

5) I'm thankful for my family members near and far. NEAR: Grandma and Tommy had us over for Thanksgiving and it felt wonderful to get a family Thanksgiving. We met Tommy's son-in-law, Joseph, and loved him. As Doug and I were driving home from Virginia, Doug remarked that this was a much better Thanksgiving than last year. (Last year, Isaac and I celebrated Thanksgiving in Utah with family while Doug went to a friend's house in Morgantown.) FAR: Oh, how I love my Sheides and Buechners and Bowens and Luecks and Hammonds and Williams' and everyone else. We've got a marvelous family.

6) I love my friends. I'm learning that I shouldn't focus on "what's in it for me" in my friendships, but rather, "how can I help?" The less selfish and self-centered I am, the better I am.

7) I'm grateful for books and MP3 players, our itty-bitty workout room, my health, my family and friends' health, my warm apartment, exquisite music, fun, food, and the joy I feel because of Jesus Christ and His atonement.

Happy Thanksgiving week to you all and cheers to your leftovers.
