December 2020

One thing I want to record before moving on to a picture review is that 2020 was really good for our family. It was the year we found our home after such a long wait, the year we started spending more time together hiking, the year we saw what it was like when most of the social aspect of the world was taken away, and what was left was our family. And it was good. I think it helped us bond as a family and I love that my kids love to be home and be together, that this is a safe, happy place for us.

I sent out all my Christmas cards at the start of December so people would have our new address.

Fun outings to the park with Corban in the bike trailer with me

Corban made his first of several hundred "printer dudes."

My sweet friend Carmen passed away at the start of December and I posted these pictures on a memory page on Facebook. I also sent ornaments to her family with stories of time with her.

My cutie after preschool. We often stopped at the park on our way home (if the middle schoolers weren't swearing too loudly).

Kids running on and off the trampoline

And playing games with cushions

I got plantar fasciitis again when we moved and I could barely walk. The podiatrist was no help at all.

We did a fun lego advent calendar and have done that since then.

Love letters to Cason from his classmates

A nativity with cousins outside our house

My post about our 5k at Christmas, the Jingle Bell Jog.

Kids enjoying the hot tub. (It currently doesn't have hot water. . . Home Warranty dropped the ball and now I'm on hold with them as I type. It worked pretty well for most of a year and a half. Update: It's supposed to be resolved soon!)

An incriminating picture with Isaac on the morning of the Jingle Bell Jog.

Getting ready for Christmas!

Opening gifts with cousins in Highland a few days later

Littles enjoying the Children's Museum, thanks to Shauna's free passes.

Enjoying the Mountain Ridge gym, thanks to my Dad's access to his gym as the gym teacher.

Loving the dinosaur museum.

Foreshadowing of things to come. Jet got snuggled across Isaac's shoulders. Little did Isaac know he would get his own mini Goldendoodle a year later.

Building a snowman out of a little snow

Celebrating New Year's Eve with Doug's favorite seafood options--too bad all these foods quadrupled in price after Covid hit. And that wraps up 2020! Thankful for another great year.
