September 2020

These pics are in reverse order again. We start at the end of September at Great Wolf Lodge. It was a great time to go because the indoor pools weren't too crowded and we could use the outdoor pool as well.

Corban's swimming was getting a lot better and he was proud of himself.
This was the kids' last dental check-up before we moved to Peoria. We still had to wear masks any time we were inside a building and we had to call ahead to be admitted, then go out the back doors.

This is our current backyard, but we had taken a picture of it and were admiring it. I'm guessing we saw it in September, put our offer in that day, and closed the next month, officially on October 30th, but we moved in on November 17th.

And here is cute Corban at his kindergarten physical. I think he needed to have his shots before he could start developmental preschool.
Cason wrote about things that mattered to him, like the Hulk, even when he needed to be writing about Egyptians for first grade.
I was proud of myself for organizing my garage.

More wonderful Lucy artwork. I suggested it was a foretelling of the hyper black dog we were going to buy a year and a half later.
Doug took Brooklyn to Medieval Times with his work managers and they had a great time.
Brooklyn and Lucy playing with the settings on my phone in the car

We found a loud, large owl in the neighborhood.
From Lucy again
Cute little Corban and Harrison starting one month of preschool with Isabel before Corban's developmental preschool went to in-person learning
A bobcat mom and her two babies moved into our backyard for a few days. We were very thankful that she didn't attack Isaac when he went outside with a pan and started banging it to scare her away. We didn't know yet that her cubs were there!
Playing with Baby Mabrey
This is pretty cool. My friend Brett Bennett wrote a picture book about Sage, the woodpecker, and I did a lot of editing and proofreading for him. Corban liked the story and liked coloring it in, having me trace it repeatedly.
Toward the start of the school year, our air conditioner stopped working and it was SSSOOOO hot in our house! I called the school and begged them to let the kids learn there, but no. Brett and Laurie Bennett brought us a swamp cooler to help us survive the day.
Brooklyn had her "lucky tooth" removed. It was so long! I kind of had no idea. She still needs braces, but there is less crowding than there would have been with that tooth still in there.
We tried to save our tiniest turtle by letting him have bloodworms, but it didn't work. It was so sad that he couldn't thrive with us.
