A lady in my ward in Virginia was a singer, and made a CD that has a song called "True Happy." I think that's what I am today. Here's why:
1) I'm all caught up on school work and working ahead. I have great co-workers and awesome students, and I know I am doing my best to help them (which involves creating screencasts for them, sharing supplementary materials, talking on the phone with them, being helpful in Office Hours. . . )
2) I finished "A Memory of Light," which is the last book in the "Wheel of Time" series. I have become such a slow reader of boring books (still reading 'Don Quixote") so it is nice to know I can still push through fast-paced books. And my family has been into this series, so it is fun to discuss it (along with "Downton Abbey," "The Office," and "Merlin"--some shows at least a few of us watch).
3) I got to run for 5 miles today. What mom is lucky enough to have an awesome part-time job and run 5 miles during the day? Call me Mrs. Lucky. I know some people will call me Mrs. Doesn't Prioritize Her Family, but I promise that I am doing my very best on that front too. I work when they're sleeping, and feel like I'm a better mom if I get to work out.
4) Doug's going to have brother time in California this weekend, which means I get to play in Utah AND I don't even have to drive there or back, because Doug leaves from the SLC airport. Very cool.
5) I got to talk to MaryAnn today. That would make anyone happy!
So there's a lot to be grateful for today.
