Milestones

Pretend you see a picture of Lucy taking a rest right now, clutching Aurora and Prince Phillip in one hand. And pretend you see two sticker charts filled in on the fridge--one counting down the days until preschool, and the other a potty chart leading to Lucy's 2-year-old utopic toy (the Aurora and Phillip set, complete with outfit changes for Aurora).

Isaac started preschool today, and it was a one-hour orientation, with parents. Isaac was the first child to be "shushed" because Miss Kris was reading a monster story and Isaac couldn't help exclaiming over every single picture. I was happy when other kids got shushed as well, and I was happy that the shushing was loving. Isaac got his picture taken and decided a Superman pose, with one arm in the air, was necessary. He liked fishing (for paper fish with policies on them), since that was one of the activities, and I feel great about this new experience for him. He's half a head taller than all of the other kids:).

Lucy is a potty-trained super star. She became a big girl/super-dooper-pooper, with potty power. I'm proud of her, and can't believe potty training can be as easy as it has been with Lucy. She has gone 4 days with one accident, and she loves poooping in the potty, and keeping her underwear dry. Hallelujah. I'd like to dedicate her success to lollipop bribes, Princess Aurora, and to Topaz, who recommended putting a potty trainer in a cold bath to wash off after an accident. The punishment fits the crime or, in "Love and Logic" language, the consequence follows the behavior appropriately:).

Brooklyn has also had her own little milestone. She no longer needs to be wrapped up like a one-armed burrito (see previous pictures) for nap time and bedtime. You'd think that is a small thing, but I was getting really sick of wrapping her up, and then fixing the wrapping in the middle of the night, only to have her break free again.

So way to go, little ones. You've made my life a wild ride!

Please send some of your potty training magic my way!
