My Favorite Things

We made cookies for Valentine's Day and gave them to lots of people we love. The cookies were enormous, but tasty, and looked better with frosting. I love projects with the kids, and giving cookies to people. So fun.
Isaac's cousins sent him a Valentine, and he was so excited to respond. This is his letter, which reads, "Dear Haven, Thank you for cookies! Love,Isaac." It's a good thing this little boy isn't going into kindergarten for another year and a half. We can keep working on his penmanship:). But I was so thrilled to see how proud he was of his letter.
I love it when my kids eat well, and act happy at the dinner table. This is not always the case.
I surprised Doug with a special dinner on Valentine's Day. We had crab, baked potatoes, shrimp, salad, frog's eye salad, and ginger ale. We also had candles, and the kids ate before so we got our own romantic candle-lit dinner. I took Pepto before the meal, because I've been nauseous all month, and didn't want to feel it during our dinner. It worked!
Doug surprised me with roses that night. The people he home teaches talked him into it, even though I've told him I don't want roses on Valentine's Day (because of the cost). I now stand corrected--I love roses on Valentine's Day. And Costco's prices make it seem okay.
I just love how pretty she is.
I got my hair cut that day--and you can't tell. But you can see my pretty blue eyes. As I balloon through this pregnancy, I am thankful for pretty eyes. You need to feel a little pretty as you grow!
The fleurs. Note how several of the flowers dip down, thanks to little people who needed to smell them all day long:).
I'm not so good at decorating. But I love how I arranged the kids' beds for showing our home.

I don't know when or why we took this, but I love this man!
Lucy cut this piece of paper for 20 minutes one day. I had to chaperon her, because she suggested several times that she ought to cut her dress or the floor as well.

I love sending them outside to play. They're not allowed to play in the mud, but they can find sticks and dip the sticks in the mud to their hearts' content.

And now I'm caught up with my pictures. I just returned from a 4-day trip in Utah, with no pictures to show for it. But we had a blast at the aquarium, the dinosaur museum, Farm Country, and the Thanksgiving Point deli. I only spent money on gas, one meal, and some ice cream. I'm so grateful for fun family, some nice spring weather, and getting quality time with my little kids. I'll try to be a good teacher, and catch up on some school homework now:).

First of all, you do indeed have pretty eyes. Want to hear something funny? I always remember you telling me once that every girl should either curl her eyelashes or wear mascara every day. It's kind of silly, but I took your advice to heart because I realized you were right--it really does make a big difference.
That Valentine's dinner looks amazing and your kids bedrooms look really cute. Hope you get some good traffic (and a good offer!) soon.
