February Review

We did playgroup every Friday, and it was often at the church. Brooklyn liked to climb the tree with her buddy outside the church door.

Doug and Lucy at the zoo. We had such a great family outing there.

Lucy and her friend Elsie love arctic wolves, so I took this picture and Lucy texted it to Elsie.

So much fun at the BYU basketball game at the start of February!

I already posted this, but this really was the best pack meeting Blue and Gold I have ever been to.

We found out at the start of February that Doug would get to stay in Utah. We were so excited (and then had our hopes dashed within a few weeks). We sent this picture to his cluster saying Doug's family is so excited to get to stay.

And this guy started potty training at the start of February. Unfortunately, the boy is still not potty trained now at the start of September. Grrrr!!! What did I do wrong? What can I do right to fix this?!

I started my calling as Mia Maids adviser in February. The young women are amazing. We made an amazing mall out of a bunch of garbage.

The night before Valentine's Day, making boxes for their valentines, and also making valentines for classmates. I miss seeing the girls in their leotards! They're not wanting to stay with gymnastics right now, and it makes me sad!

The cute valentines

We got an aquarium pass when we found out Doug got a job in Utah, which we used on Valentine's Day because why not?

Doug and I went on a date in borrowed coats on Valentine's night. I think we went out for ice cream.

Aunt Cecilia passed away in February. She had been serving her mission with Mehrl in Thailand when she discovered she had cancer. They flew home and she spent her last few weeks surrounded by her family. They were heartbroken. We decided to show our love and honor Cecelia by going to her funeral. This picture of Lucy with an enormous grapefruit seems to be all I saved from that trip. On our way to Arizona, Doug's boos called him to say he had changed his mind about giving Doug Utah Valley. He was going to give him Copper Ridge instead. They set the start date, wage, and all was well and exciting.

A few days later, Doug flew to Texas, roomed with Jeremy, and found out that Ensign had decided not to give Doug Copper Ridge after all. Doug's boss said they were considering putting him in Draper, and Doug was frank about his concerns for that building. (I know I'm repeating myself. I'll stop.) But we just didn't like that particular business trip. Looking back, Doug feels like his conversation that day was inspired. It led him down a different path that has been really good so far!

I documented what an incredible sister Brooklyn is. Every morning, she fed Cason his cereal, making sure he had a bib on. That's just pretty spectacular for a 5-year-old

Blue and Gold Awesomeness

I love this idea from the woman I visit taught.

Isaac did not like studying for Knowledge Bowl! His team got the highest honor possible, but Isaac didn't contribute very much to their success.
We saw deer in my parents' yard all the time. I'd still love to build a house there!

And my little darling in his football uniform. Great gift!
