Alive and Well

Just popping on here to say I'm alive and well.

We went to Utah this past weekend and had a great time--a costume birthday party for Isaac and Lucy, with so many cousins there: River, Haven, Cabell, Summer, Blake, Kate, Luke, McKay, Ivan, Tanya, and Noah + my kiddies = 14 little kids! Plus we had Grandpa Bowen and Jessica and Alyssa and Grandma and Grandpa Sheide and Peanut and Marsh and Shauna and Tanner--a great crew! Wouldn't it be nice if I had put my memory card in my camera so i actually had all the pictures I took at the party? I'll need to get those from someone else.

But things are great. School is going well for me and Isaac, swimming lessons are funny events for Isaac and Lucy (Lucy won't keep her knees straight--bike pedalling through the water like a champ--and Isaac lives for the moment when his swim coach lets him jump into the noodle), and I'm slowly getting the house organized for our big move.

Kind of a boring post, but here's an anecdote I want to remember:

Marshall blessed his baby on Sunday, so we all went to Shauna and Marshall's church on Sunday. Brooklyn was terrible, so I took her out right after sacrament, and actually got a lot out of the meeting because Brooklyn and I hung out on the stage--where the speakers were blessedly on--I loved the testimony meeting! During Relief Society, Peanut and I were stuck in the front corner of the room, wedged against the piano bench. We thought we would avoid being introduced because there was a vase of wheat blocking the conductor of the meeting from seeing us. Lo and behold, the lady at the piano turned to us and called everyone's attention to us. We were already giggling about being lost behind the wheat, so when we were supposed to stand up, and Peanut wouldn't, I stood. I have never laughed so hard in Relief Society as I did as I tried to say Peanut couldn't stand up on account of her delicate condition. I just couldn't get a single word out, and Peanut quickly stood to introduced us as Tara and Michelle Sheide. The announcer said she was glad we were obviously so happy. We kept cracking up, and I cheerfully pointed out to Peanut--after we sat down--that the women would probably think she was a hussy because she was unmarried and pregnant. It was a beautiful moment in my life:).

We sure had a great time being with you. Since my BYUI job, I haven't been the blogger or follower that I once was. I realized I would have known lots of news about you had I been looking here. I am vowing to do a better job.

I'm laughing just thinking about that. Wish I could've been there too!

There's never a dull moment with you, Tara. And that's why I love you! I'm glad you had a good visit and got to be with family. Also, can I just say how awesome you're blog's main photo of Isaac is? Every time I visit your blog, it puts the biggest smile on my face. I hope we can see you guys again soon!
