My baby's due date is February 23rd, and he is measuring for an arrival on February 17th. At my next ultrasound, I'll see whether or not his due date is officially moved up. I tend to have bigger than normal babies, so I'm not crossing my fingers for a due date ahead of the 23rd. I sent texts to family and friends at the doctor's office during several long waits, showing this ultrasound picture, where my baby is giving me a "high five."

For memory: the kids were very good during the ultrasound. I wasn't sure whether or not to bring them, but the oldest two were so excited to see pictures of "their baby". Isaac was SO excited that he gets a little brother and he and Lucy kept exclaiming over how cute our baby is. Lucy didn't like that he is a boy, and quickly decided I should have ANOTHER baby and she'll be a girl. Brooklyn sucked on a lollipop and asked me once if she could sit on my lap. We distracted her somehow and got to enjoy watching our little boy move around some more.
More for memory: I have gained a whole bunch of weight so far (11 pounds, and I'm officially 14 1/2 weeks along). I was hoping I was carrying twins to justify the weight gain, and because I have always longed to have twins. But my baby is cute, so I will forgive him for coming by himself. During this pregnancy, I have been sick, very tired, and very thankful that the experience wasn't worse. I planned my own funeral during my Lucy pregnancy, and my Brooklyn pregnancy was pretty terrible too. This time, I didn't throw up, so I suspected I was having a boy. I'm so smart:).
Taking half a Unisom pill at night seemed to help me, and I also ate constantly. I'm eating a bit less like a desparate pregnant woman now, and more like a hobbit. There's breakfast, second breakfast, lunch, dinner, and second dinner for me right now.
While I hoped the general nausea and fatigue would be gone by now, as I'm out of my first trimester, I'm still working through sickness and exhaustion. I do feel better, though. I am able to work out more often, and I don't tank without fail at 3:30 pm like I used to. I generally lose all my energy around 7 now, so it's still hard to get kids to bed.
Bottom line: I am so happy and excited to meet this little guy. I think it will be fun to have three boys and three girls, and I love that I got to find out our baby's gender so early in the game.

Yay! Congratulations on such great news. I can't believe you got to find out the gender so dang early. Hope you feel better soon!
Congratulations!!
Marshall says he's excited for you to get a surprise girl because the sex organs look the same on the outside for a while that's why we have to wait so long to find out gender :-). So at least you know you have the support of family :-)
Any chance Marsh has to make you doubt :-). I'm excited for you Tara!! Yeah for more boy cousins for Blake man!
Shauna, tell Marshall I have a very special ultrasound picture (labelled "BOY") to show him, which he can examine carefully, and then he can use all his doctor knowledge to conclude that the evidence is inconclusive.
Congratulations Tara!!
Congratulations- so exciting!
