35 Degrees outside? Perfect for a Stroller Ride

Even though it's freezing (almost literally) outside, my kids are finally well!!!!! That means we must go on adventures!!!!!! So today, the sun was shining and I thought we ought to do a stroller ride, but I knew it would probably be responsible to check the weather first. 35 degrees... So I put the kids in their winter coats, packed a lunch for them (I had gorged myself before packing their lunch), and strapped them into our sunny yellow stroller. Then I put the weather-all over them (a divine feature--protects them from wind, rain, snow, whatever). The only downside of the weather-all is it decreases their visibility. They pulled through.

On the way to the park, I realized I ought to invite stress, unpredictability, and sociability into my life, so I began calling girls I know in the area to see if they want to come over to my house tomorrow for a "healthy kids" party, wherein we eat cookies and kids tear my house apart. I've been out of the loop for so long due to kid sicknesses and my trips to Utah, so this will be nice.

We all know this means I have to clean my house. Today: dust; mop; bathrooms; trash out. Tomorrow: make cookies; tidy; make sure kids have baths.

And my update on my online teaching class is as follows: I don't particularly like having a class with homework. I like the people and I'm having fun using online tools, so that's great. But I don't like extra responsibility. Like I need to submit a CV to BYU-Idaho, which means I need to bring it up to date AFTER I magically find it on my new computer, and I have to send for a transcript from USU to be sent to BYU-Idaho, and I have a synchronous chat tonight with my cohort, and some reading to do. Just extra stuff in my life. To compete with the Olympics. I have LOVED the Olympics this year! That red-headed snow-boarder from the US is amazing and I love the second place US men's figure skater who looks like Doug. It's just lots of fun.

I'll conclude the post with a bridal shower picture from this last Saturday. Shauna, the beautiful blond on the left, is joining the Sheide clan on March 5th and we're thrilled about it. She and Marshall are a really special pair. Marshall used to call her a "tender mercy from the Lord" before his mission, a gift from Heavenly Father to him for as long as Marshall could hold onto her. Shockingly, Shauna didn't get married while Marsh was on his mission, and they quickly picked up where they'd left off. Love you, Shauna.

It's fun to see Shauna - what a cutie to join you and the other cuties in your family! I love hearing about all of your adventures. I'm completing my ESL classes and I am not liking all of the homework either:( Two books recommendations I have for you - Three Cups of Tea and The Same Kind of Different As Me. Both very wonderful - I will have to tell you about them sometime!

Amazing what cabin fever will make us do! By the way, I love it that you think Evan Lysacek looks like Doug. We've been laughing all week about how he looks just like my brother!! By the way, Evan's up there on my awesome olympian list, too!

Yeah for Marshall and Shauna! What a cute girl...I just got their invitation in the mail. I'm counting down the days until I come.
We also had a 35 degree sunny day last week and we played outside. It felt warm compared to the weather we usually have. :)
